Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Originating in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American businesses and families saved $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. Every Pella® Product meets or exceeds ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. What impact will this have on you? Not only might you find a decrease to your heating and cooling charges, you can help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are each specifically designed and customized for your home, meaning no two projects are alike. Our large variety of products make it difficult to discuss pricing without first bearing in mind your wants and needs and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it useful to send out a Pella sales representative who will provide you with a quoted project price once they have seen the project site itself. To expedite the process, your Pella® sales representative is equipped with a computer and a portable printer so that they’ll have all the quote information you’ll need—as soon as the sales representative has had a chance to consider the requirements of the task and brings them to life with your vision.

In addition to offering a large assortment of first-rate products to select from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you excellent window and door products at affordable prices, giving you a chance to make the home improvements you want to while building great value into your Kingston area home while you do it.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We suggest that you clean them with a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning mix or use an ammonia-free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. Or you can make your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Apply the solution to a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not suggest using glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based because they could produce streaks or create a film that attracts moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses dependable installers who are certified to install Pella doors and windows. They are required to complete a thorough set of training courses so that your windows and doors are properly installed and meet Pella’s strict warranty guidelines. We look for the best Kingston-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Before we hire anyone, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully protected by liability and workers compensation insurance. Beyond Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Your local Pella branch provides services and support that “big box” stores can’t perform. Our experts are highly-trained in selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Working with a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and expert installers means that you will have the expertise of our whole team. We commonly use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. Simply contact our office, your sales representative, or our project manager with any questions or concerns you may have and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are several important reasons why Kingston homeowners select Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Pella was founded in 1925 and has remained privately-held the entire time. Each of our high quality windows and doors are produced with attention to detail and serviced by Pella’s qualified Direct Sales Network. Unlike other manufacturers who sell exclusively through third-party channels, Pella has dedicated windows & door design centers the U.S. and Canada. This unique way of doing business gives our customers in Kingston a convenient and personal experience with the help of a local to Kingston, Pella-certified team. Whether you are contemplating the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a high quality, energy efficient and durable solution.

What should I expect during the in-home consultation?

Pella Kingston’s in-home consultation is a critical first step to ensure client satisfaction and the most appropriate window or door products are picked for your Kingston home and budget. As such, it is imperative that this visit is booked when all decision-makers (typically both homeowners) are able to attend. Our aspiration is to provide you the best replacement windows and doors possible.

We recommend that you reserve up to two hours for this visit. Among the many topics we will review with you would be:

· What materials (vinyl, wood or fiberglass) are most appropriate for your Kingston home?

· In terms of functionality, which features would you like for your new windows or doors?
